31 Oct Working on not one but two feature films
Some people call me crazy, some call me insane. I agree with both of these. I am totally mad. Instead of directing one feature film, I set myself the goal of directing two. One after the other. If I was getting the funding to shoot one and to shoot the other one only cost a little bit more, then why wouldn’t we. My crew were going to be here and I can reuse locations etc. So I wrote an idea and then got my screenwriter to help finish it off. So now I had two scripts. Crew all sorted, now it was just casting. My line producer is amazing she arranges all the paperwork allowing me to concentrate on all of the creative stuff. I have created look books for both films and am constantly being inspired by things I’m watching or reading. I’m learning about VFX and casting to shot lists and the look I want to create. It’s so flipping cool. They are both very different films. A horror for children and a family drama. I am totally absorbed in my creativity and imagining the entire film every time I read the script through. I understand why shooting two might end up slightly more complicated but for now it’s all good. I will let you know when it’s over.
