31 Oct Writing a book
My mother has always told me I should have a camera crew following me around and documenting everything I do. Instead of a camera crew though I have decided to document everything on my own, in a book. ‘Four features in my first year as a female director” how it’s really done. Having never studied film, or attended any courses on directing, I am totally self taught. I have taught myself to write, to produce and to direct film. I have spent my entire life in theatre running theatre companies from age15. I know drama, I understand acting, I have set up networking companies that help start ups raise funds. I have a wealth of knowledge but nothing specific to film. So I wanted to document everything I’m learning and have learnt and am continuing to still learn in this process. I want to teach everyone that we can all have our very own “hollywoods” that Hollywood is a term that is subjective to us all. My Hollywood is very successful at the moment and I want to share my knowledge with everyone. Each day I write about things that have happened or something significant. If the end result is that I can encourage other people to just go and “do it” then my book will be totally worth while.
